Wheel trim rings.
Found some chrome rings on ebay, local aswell. Went to the final bid on them and the computer froze, AAARRGHH, missed them, oh well.

Footwell light middle door. Got a new bulb holder and wired it up, no light. Connected a new earth to the sub frame and got light. Don't know where the original earth wire goes, as it disappears under the floorpan. I'ts just not worth the hassle of taking the floor up to trace this earth wire.
Might connect the earth to the front passenger footwell light.
I will then at least have light to the middle footwell when the front passenger door is opened

Finished the cupboard and installed it in the bus.
The touch up paint arrived from the VW dealers yesterday. They had to order it in. Tried it on the paintwork today and it is quite a good match.
Spent this afternoon down the farm listening to John and Paul, D-Jaying their classic reggae albums, great stuff.

Not been much happening as I bought a new acoustic guitar on Saturday. Sold a bell tent last week and had a drive out to the coast on Saturday. Went in to the music shop for the free magazine and ended up trying out a few guitars, (fateful error I know) came out with a Yamaha six string. Have only ever owned a twelve string in the past. The six string is a lot easier on the fingers, C and A are much easier to play on the six string, well for me anyway.
Started to make a cupboard today for the back of the bus. This will fit on the nearside, in between the back door and the seat. Will have to buy a couple of small door hinges tomorrow. I'd better buy a latch as-well, as I don't want to smash anything else !!!!

Good news,
Well it turns out that the wires from the footwell lights weren't too hard to trace after all. A pull on the wires underneath the bus led up to a live wire with a fuse holder. The fuse had blown, so with a new bulb fitted and new fuse installed the footwell lights work. Errr, well at least the front passenger one does. The side door footwell light still requires a new 12 volt bulb holder.

Mudflaps Day.
Finally managed to ebay some mudflaps and they were local too. Picked them up from the previous owner, hardly used off of his Bug. The fitting brackets supplied were different to the LT.
Removal of old brackets.
Well it took longer to get the old brackets off than it did to put the new ones on. Made up a pair of new brackets out of some alloy that I had spare and fitted the brackets and mudflaps onto the original body fittings. Total time for a half hour job......... (any guesses)...... Yup nearly four hours.
Still they look nice though.

Been looking at a few VW web sites.
Came across some wheel ring trims, called Beauty Rings. These fit around the inner wheel and are in a chrome finish. they set the wheels off really nice. Will see if I can source these locally and at a lower price.
Also I am in need of some Mudflaps, these are also readily available, keep bidding on ebay but have always been outbid (so-far).
