Footwell light middle door. Well finally got a working light. Ran a new earth wire and original live wire from the front footwell light bulb holder to a new middle footwell bulb holder and finally we have a working middle door light. If you open the front passenger door first, as this door operates the light switch. Will probably never know, where the original earth wire went to from the middle footwell.
Unless I decide to take the floor up of course, mmmmhh. I think i'll just leave things as they are.

Been ebaying trying to get a roof rack and ladder for the Bus. No luck so far, keep getting outbid or my bids aren't even reaching the reserve price.
Had a trip to the coast yesterday and bought a antifreeze tester from a motorists shop. (Yeah I know most people buy chips or candy floss at the seaside.) The indicator says the Bus is protected down to -17 deg, so a top up of anti freeze down to -35 deg protection is recommended.

Car booty at the weekend. Right load of old tat. Still, spent some money on one of those small butane gas heaters and some spare canisters. Starting to get a bit chilly now you know.
Installed a cartridge and fired it up. Throws out quite a bit of heat even on the lowest setting.
Need a few days away somewhere to try it out properly. Was going to buy a antifreeze tester, but there where none for sale there. A visit to our local motorist discount centre to get one, will be on the cards soon.

Well a great weekend has just been had.
Drove the bus northwards this weekend to spend some time with the horse loggers, Deborah and Alan in there woodland. There was a wicker basket making course being run. This looked far to skilled for me, so I spent sometime, tea making and fire tending. After tea the guitars and mandolins etc came out to play. There was a guy there who used to play in a well known punk band in the late 70's/early 80's. We where given a real treat in his playing of some classic stuff.

Back to the bus.
A phone call was made on the Sunday to a caravan breaker, who might be able to source a fridge for the bus.

Last weekend was spent at North Yorkshire on the farm.
Drove down on the Friday and stayed for the weekend.
A willow fence was partly made and put in around the roundhouse. We will finish it off at the end of October, when the crazy gang cut some more willow.
The drive home up the A1 was more like navigating a river in a narrow boat than being on a main road. Torrential rain and floods. The weekend weather had been perfect till then.

Samhain at the end of October, so here's a quick recipe. for Wassail

4 Bottles of brown ale
1 bottle of white wine
3 or 4 Bramley apples
Sugar to taste
Cinammon
Nutmeg
Heat the apples in a pan with sugar, cinammon, nutmeg and a little water untill they go frothy, turn down the heat.
Add the wine and the ale and taste. Add more sugar if required, heat gently (don't boil)
Serve hot.
